To increase your leadership level in King's Bounty 2, players will need to level up by earning XP in the game. Every time a player level up, their leadership will increase by a small amount each time.
Because of this, leveling up is the best way to raise your leadership up; you can also farm XP to level up very quickly in the game. Another way to earn more leadership is to unlock the glory talent, which gives you 150 leadership when you unlock it.
But to level up, we highly recommend focusing on completing both side and story quests and fight as many battles as you can. You will earn a ton of experience this way and will also be able to hire more units and better ones as well.

The reason why is that all units in the game will require a certain amount of leadership, as indicated by silver crowns, so if you see 240 silver crowns, it means that the unit requires 240 leadership. All of your units also add up in leadership, and each unit stack cannot exceed your total leadership.
So what this means is that if you hire two units that cost 240 leadership, when your current level is 500, you can not hire a third one as it would exceed your max 500 leadership. Because of this, it's highly recommended to keep leadership in mind when trying to hire units.
