To level the Mining gathering skill in New World, players will need to start mining boulders and iron ore. The more you mine, the faster you will become better at mining ores and the faster the skill will level up.
As you progress into higher mining levels, you will also need to move on to tougher ores. When you mine higher-level ores, you will earn more XP, so as you level up, it would be ideal for focusing on farming these ores as much as possible.
Start with stone boulders, and then work your way up to iron and farm iron more often. You should also focus on making iron tools and getting better at making them. The reason why is that if you get an iron pickaxe with a decent perk and harvest rate, it will help you gather and level your mining skill in New World.
That said, with a decent iron pick, you will be able to farm your mining skill quickly by using it to harvest both stone and iron ore quickly. You can also use the best iron ore locations guide to help you create a route to farm iron ore.
As a side note, when you get iron ore, turning it into ingots would be very helpful for raising your smelting skill, which in turn will help you to make more pickaxes to mine and raise your mining skill with if you level your engineering,
