One of the most anticipated releases in 2021 for Game Pass subscribers is undoubtedly Age of Empires IV. The Real-Time Strategy game by Relic Entertainment and World's Edge promises a return to form for the Age of Empires series and has been reviewed favorably with critics thus far. While players are excited to play the game, there have been several issues for those trying to download the game with Game Pass.
Try rebooting the Xbox Game Pass app to fix errors when downloading Age of Empires via Game Pass. Because this is a highly anticipated launch only available on PC's Game Pass, players are flooding the Xbox app trying to download it. The constant traffic to Microsoft's Xbox app is putting strain on the system.

If refreshing your Xbox app doesn't work, we recommend waiting for several minutes before trying to download the game again. After the error message is displayed, some users have reported that the game eventually starts to download, given enough time.
