The Chronicled Wish is a new addition to Genshin Impact's roster of gacha banners, which will be released in Version 4.5. It will allow you to target standard and limited five-star and four-star characters and weapons without waiting for a rerun.
Here's everything you need to know about how the Chronicled Wish banner system works and how to ensure you get your preferred characters and weapons.
How does the Chronicled Wish banner system work in Genshin Impact
The Chronicled Wish banner works similarly to the Event Wish, which is also known as the limited banner. You can pull for it using Intertwined Fates or the equivalent value in Primogems. It introduces a system called Chronicled Path, which allows you to target a specific five-star character or weapon from a given roster.
Chronicled Wish banner pity system
The Chronicled Wish banner's pity system is similar to the limited banner. You can choose exactly which five-star to pull from a given roster. If you choose a character, all the five stars you pull will be characters, and likewise for weapons.
The pity system works based on a 50-50 guarantee:
- You are guaranteed to get a five-star at 90 pulls. It's not guaranteed to be the character or weapon you have chosen.
- If you don't get the character or weapon you have chosen, you'll receive one Fate Point. The next five-star item you get is guaranteed to be the one you have chosen, and the Fate Point will be consumed.
- If you manage to get your chosen item, the next five-star is not guaranteed to be the one you choose.
Character and weapon pools are separate. You're also guaranteed to get a four-star weapon or character every 10 pulls, but there's no way to choose which one.
The 50-50 pity does not carry over to the next Chronicled Wish banner rotation. If you lose the 50-50 and don't reach the second pity before the banner reset, your Fate Point will disappear and you'll have to start all over again. As such, I recommend always saving up two guarantees before attempting to pull.
What characters and weapons will be available in the Chronicled Wish?
The roster of characters and weapons in the Chronicled Wish is expected to rotate regularly, but Genshin Impact has not released an official banner schedule. Only some standard and limited items will appear in every banner rotation.
While there's still some waiting time involved between changes in the character and weapon lineup, it's still a useful system as it will allow even more reruns in every patch.
Limited items must meet the following requirements before appearing in the Chronicled Wish:
- They must have had three or more limited banner reruns.
- They should not have appeared on any recent banners.
