Worst Exotic Weapons in Destiny 2

The Exotic title should be stripped from these weapons.

Destiny 2 is known for creating rare, powerful, and interesting-looking weapons known as Exotic Weapons. These weapons are a lot harder to come by than your average weapons and some of them even have quests with multiple steps that need to be completed in order to receive one. However, as more and more of these weapons get added into the game, there are bound to be a few that are just not that great. Here are the Worst Exotic Weapons in Destiny 2.

D.A.R.C.I.

This was a great sniper when it first came out as it did huge amounts of DPS due to it being a heavy weapon. However, since its release, multiple alternative snipers can out damage D.A.R.C.I., and they all only take up the special slot leaving your heavy weapon slot open for something else. Its exotic perk allows you to see health and other critical information about the enemy in the scope. This mediocre perk paired with the fact that it is not a DPS powerhouse is what doomed this heavy sniper.

Skyburner's Oath

This weapon is an example of being useful at one point, but then the game moved on and Skyburner's Oath did not. Its exotic perk allows the weapon to lob large, explosive, seeking slugs while firing from the hip. Then while aiming down sights, it fires the slugs straight with higher damage, but at a lower rate of fire. This weapon's advantages came from the increased damage against Cabal enemies as well as the ability to penetrate Phalanx shields. However, In today's Destiny 2 you can get anti-barrier mods to deal with all barriers, and the increased Cabal damage just isn't that big of a deal.

Salvations Grip

The Salvations Grip exotic perk allows it to create Stasis crystals and freeze nearby targets. This weapon just simply isn't worth using. There are a few builds that can utilize this grenade launcher, but even then the weapon becomes very situational. The weapon actually has more utility when used to create Stasis Crystals on walls in order to jump on them up to a higher height, than when it is used in a fight. Since this weapon occupies both a Heavy Weapon slot and an Exotic Weapon slot, it is just not a great choice.

The Queenbreaker

This weapon gains most of its love from being the weapon that Fallen Vandals use. Other than that, there is not much to say about this weapon other than it's just a Linear Fusion Rifle. There are Legendary Linear Fusion Rifles that can almost match this weapon's damage and don't use an exotic slot. Its exotic perk allows it to blind enemies with the precision Arc bolt that it fires. However, there are more versatile weapons that provide the same blinding effect, causing this weapon to be left in everyone's vault to collect dust.

Wish-Ender

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

Wish-Ender's exotic perk allows you to see enemies through walls while aiming down sights with a fully drawn bow. With such a strong-sounding perk, it seems surprising this weapon is one of the worst. However, seeing enemies through walls in PvE content has very little utility. This makes the Wish-Ender practically the same as any other bow in PvE, except it doesn't have elemental damage. While the weapon's exotic perk could see some use in a PvP situation, the bow is not a one-shot, and a variety of other bows could get the job done as well. While this weapon looks and feels like an exotic weapon, it is lacking in performance.

So there you have it, those are our picks for the worst exotic weapons in Destiny 2. While there are plenty of other exotic weapons that don't live up to their name, we find that these exotics fail the most in what they set out to do.
