Can you change Dungeon difficulty in Diablo Immortal?

Are you ready for actual Hell?

After you have completed a dungeon in Diablo Immortal, you can go back and rechallenge it. But some players wonder if you can change the dungeon difficulty before entering it once more, as some want to seek greater rewards for more risk.

How to change difficulty levels in Diablo Immortal

You cannot change the individual dungeon difficulty. Even if you achieve a higher level and return, the dungeon will be the same as it was. That said, you can change the overall difficulty by reaching level 60. The option becomes available when you begin to earn Paragon levels. When in Westmarch, open up the Map and click/tap the skull icon in the top-right corner to change the difficulty. A difficulty menu will appear in doing so, allowing the user to change the Hell difficulty level to one of four new levels.

Difficulty levels explained in Diablo Immortal

After the base game difficulty, which is Normal, there are four Hell difficulty levels. Each one will increase your loot rewards, so this is a risk-reward system. Once you hit level 60, you want to immediately upgrade to the Hell I difficulty.

  • Normal difficulty
    • Level 1 to 60
  • Hell I
    • Paragon Level 1 to 60
  • Hell II
    • Paragon Level 30 to 120
  • Hell III
    • Paragon Level 90 to 210
  • Hell IV
    • Paragon Level 160 to 300

Each difficulty gets noticeably tougher, and it's not all about being at the right level. You need your equipment, gear, and gems up to scratch, or you will get destroyed.

Can you change difficulty before level 60 in Diablo Immortal?

You cannot change the difficulty level before level 60. Before you reach this level, the difficulty is static throughout Diablo Immortal. There is one set difficulty level, Normal, that is progressive in nature, meaning it gets harder the more you advance the story and the like.

Can you lower the difficulty from Hell difficulty in Diablo Immortal?

Yes, the increase in difficulty, such as the Hell levels, can be decreased whenever you see fit. Go through the same steps—interact with the skull from the map and lower the difficulty. After upgrading your gems and gear, you can increase the difficulty back to the Hell levels with the same steps once you have a better ORDR—Offense Rating Defense Rating.
