Tall Tales in Sea of Thieves were implemented to give a sense of adventure to the more casual pirate players. We all took to these quickly and found ourselves obsessively diving into the stories and lore that each one provides. That's it so far! Both of the Tall Tales in the Ashen Age Arc introduced the possibility of some daunting villains, so we should certainly expect an expansion on those in the near future.
Additional Notes
- Checkpoints. Every Tall Tale has checkpoints that save your progress through the story. This featured was added (we assume) because players had a tendency to give up on them if they were accidentally disconnected from the servers. In our guides, we tend to break them down into sections that follow those checkpoints, but not all of them are exact.
- Saves. Every Tall Tale can be loaded from its previously saved checkpoint by accessing the Tall Tales section when you approach your Captain's Table and propose a quest in your inventory.
- Failures. If you manage to lose a quest item or fail a puzzle, you can reload the Tall Tale using the aforementioned checkpoints and saves.
