Whether you're an experienced player or just starting out, heists are an excellent way to quickly unlock huge bonuses in Teamfight Tactics, but they require a little setup. Here's how heists work in TFT and how you can trigger one for yourself.

Triggering a Heist
To start a heist, you'll need to activate the underground trait. You can do this by simply placing three underground units on the board. If you don't have three underground units, emblems or augments that give underground boosters or act as placeholder underground units will also work.
Units that will offer the underground trait include:
- Kayle
- Ezreal
- Sona
- Vi
- Samira
Playing a Heist
Each heist consists of ten locks that are cracked through rounds of gameplay. When you just have three underground units on the board, you'll crack two locks with every win and three with every loss. If you boost the number of underground units up to five, you'll crack three locks with a win and five on a loss.
You might have noticed that more locks are cracked by losing rounds than by winning them. This means that you'll need to be, well, tactical (pardon the pun) and balance your wins and losses or accept that it'll take more rounds before you'll crack enough locks to open up a vault.
Once you've cracked ten or more locks, you'll get a vault. Inside the vault are rewards, and you can either continue the heist or cut and run with the available rewards. If you continue the heist, you will repeat the cracking process of at least ten locks. The rewards from the next opened lock will be better than the first lock, however, and the rewards will continue to improve the more heists you complete.
