In order to bring down the nasty monsters roaming the many landscapes of Wild Hearts, you're going to need some nice, sturdy, powerful armor. However, like a typical catch-22, you're going to hunt some of the beasts to get the stuff you need for your armor. As you build it though, you may notice that armor is split into two different categories, the Human-Path and the Kemono-Path, and may be confused about what this means. Well, fortunately, we're well aware and can get you up to speed on what you need to know about armor in Wild Hearts.
What is Human-Path and Kemeno-Path Armor in Wild Hearts?
Armor, in Wild Hearts, follows an alignment or morality system you might see in a single-player RPG. You see, almost all armor can be upgraded to follow one of these two paths. Some skills require you to have a certain amount of alignment toward one path or the other, and if you don't, those skills aren't activated.
The Human-Path upgrade option allows your armor to be aligned toward the Human-Path, a path that focuses on technology and human ingenuity. Human-Path skills tend to be more passive or defensive, allowing for better sustain and better team support. When you upgrade your armor to the Human-Path, the armor's visual changes to be more humanistic, and you gain alignment toward your overall armor alignment.

On the flip side, the Kemeno-Path upgrade option allows your armor to be aligned toward the Kemeno-Path, a path that focuses on monstrous abilities and bestial innates. The Kemeno-Path skills tend to be more aggressive and offensive, often boosting damage and critical stats to higher levels. Upgrading armor to the Kemeno-Path changes the armor's visual to be more bestial and natural looking, and you gain alignment toward your overall armor alignment.
Human-Path and Kemeno-Path armor can be worn at the same time, but the alignments do conflict and will subtract from each other. As such, we recommend trying to focus on one side. It is possible to activate both Human-Path and Kemeno-Path armor skills at the same time, but it requires careful and calculated armor building to reach this goal.
