How the Airdrops Timed Event works in Control Apex Legends

Airdrops incoming.

One of the things that sets Control apart from the other modes in Apex Legends is Timed Events. Timed Events are scattered throughout a game of Control, and come in a couple of varieties. One of the Timed Events is Airdrops. Airdrop involves several Supply Drops falling from the sky on areas marked by red markers on the Minimap. When they land, they can be looted by either team. Their drop pattern is similar to the waves in the Airdrop Escalation Takeover from Season 7.

Airdrops can have a few different things inside, but it is often weapons or a purple body shield. The weapons range from purple (three-star) up to Heirloom Supply Drop weapons, and players can also obtain gold (four-star) weapons.

Airdrops can fall all over the map, and some may sit for a while if they are out of the way or closer to a map edge. Keep an eye out for these if you need to spawn at your Home Base. Sometimes getting a better weapon or armor can be worth the extra time going off route takes.
