What is the Control Limited Time Mode (LTM) in Apex Legends?

Madness takes control.

Apex Legends has a few different permanent game modes, these being Battle Royale, Ranked Leagues (Ranked Battle Royale), Arenas, and Ranked Arenas. That said, there are also a lot of Limited Time Modes, or LTMs, that bring certain modes to Apex Legends for a few days or a few weeks. One of the LTMs in a mode called Control. The mode is playable from Feb. 8 until March 1, alongside the launch of Season 12: Defiance, and the Apex Legends third anniversary.

How to play Control

The Control LTM says a lot in just its simple name, it is a control point game mode, meaning that teams will be fighting for territory, rather than fighting to be the last player alive. In Control, there are multiple “Control Points”, which you will need to claim control of in order to win.

There are only two teams in each Control match, but unlike in other mode, each team has nine players on it. This means that Control, at least currently, is an 9V9 game mode. All players in Control also have infinite respawns, so if you die, don’t worry. You can come back and help your team all over again. Just be careful of the time it takes to come back into the fray.

Before the match, you will also be able to select your loadout, so there is no worry about needing to loot in this game mode. It’s all about the battle, power, and you guessed, control.
