The rush you feel when defeating one of Elden Rings's many bosses, or simply exploring the world is unmatched by many gaming experiences. Ashen

Ashen is a brilliant Indie action RPG, inspired by Dark Souls. Ashen features a vast open-world to explore in their unique art style. Your character and an AI companion set out into the dangerous world filled with creatures and bosses to kill and an interesting story to piece together on your journey. The game can also be played entirely in Co-op, with someone controlling your AI Companion.

Dark Souls 3

The simplest answer on this list, Dark Souls 3, was the last Dark Souls released before Elden Ring by From Software and has a very similar combat style to Elden Ring. Sadly, Torrent is not in Dark Souls, however. While not as open-world as Elden Ring, this dark fantasy contains everything From Software is known for: punishing combat, complex narrative structures, and of course, poisonous swamps.

Mortal Shell

Mortal Shell draws almost exclusively from the design principles of Dark Souls with a unique twist. You will explore this dark fantasy world while possessing lost warriors' shells that enhance the unique abilities of your combat skills. Mortal Shell also releases a rogue-lite mode after launch that adds more replayability to the game.
