Obsidian is a rare resource that is required to make electronic items in Forager, so here is how and where to get obsidian in Forager.
Where to find Obsidian in Forager
Obsidian is a rare metal ore that has a slight chance to spawn as large deposits only in fire biomes. So if you want to mine obsidian, you will first need to unlock the fire biome by purchasing the land; you can do this via the buy option in-game.Â
However, keep in mind that the fire land will cost a lot of money, from anywhere to 4k to 57k coins, so make sure to make enough money before buying a fire land in Forager. You will also need to work your way south to reach the fire biome; this will also require you to purchase land.
Once you purchase a fire land, there will be a small for the obsidian deposits to spawn on their own. This is fine on its own but not necessarily practical if you want to get stuff done. Because of that, we recommend building a combination of both quarries and lighthouses to increase the obsidian deposits spawn rate.
To make a quarry, you will need to unlock it first with deposit skill; after that, you can then craft one with the following materials.
- Five Amethyst
- Five Emerald
- Five Topaz
- Five Ruby
Once made, the quarry will increase and spawn rocks and minerals nearby, combined with lighthouses for great effect to farm obsidian. This is because with lighthouses placed nearby, they will increase the rate at which the player gathers resources. The effect will also stack with more lighthouses that are placed. That being said, you can make lighthouses with the following resources; you will also need to unlock the lighthouse with the optics skill before you can craft it.Â
- 15 Glass
- 5 Steel
- 30 Brick
