Best SMGs in Warzone 2 Season 4

These are the best SMGs to use in Warzone 2.

In Call of Duty Warzone 2, SMGs dominate close-range engagements, and you can build amazing class setups to improve the efficiency of these guns. I prefer using an SMG over Shotguns while rushing down enemies and while getting inside a room full of campers. After experimenting with all the SMGs in the battle royale mode, I've found the best gunsmith attachments to have for each of them. You can use these class setups, but keep in mind you need to unlock some of these attachments first. Here are the best SMGs to use in Call of Duty Warzone 2.

Top SMGs in CoD Warzone 2 Season 4 Ranked

In Warzone 2 Season 4, you'll get to select from a range of 10 SMGs, and you can build proper loadouts and classes with these guns. These weapons are perfect for close to mid-range combat, and I'd recommend reaching the maximum level with each gun.

In Season 4, you'll get to use the new ISO 45 SMG, and although we have a class setup for this gun, it won't be ranked too high on the list. The reason is simple: the ISO 45 is great, but it doesn't outperform the meta SMGs like Lachmann Sub, Fennec 45, and PDSW 528.

10. MX9

The MX9 is a fast-firing SMG with impressive recoil, mobility, and handling. This weapon's weakness is its lack of range and low damage. It also has a smaller clip with only 25 bullets, making it difficult to take on multiple opponents at once. While this weapon is great for DMZ, it's not too good compared to the meta SMGs in Warzone 2.

  • Barrel: 508MM Rear Guard
  • Muzzle: Singuard MKV
  • Optic: Cronen Mini Pro/SZ Holotherm
  • Magazine: 32-Round Mag
  • Stock: Bruen HCR 56 Stock

9. FSS Hurricane

The FSS Hurricane is a balanced SMG that falls short on range and accuracy but has an excellent fire rate with decent recoil control. This gun has a 50-bullet magazine, so you wouldn't have to worry about dealing with multiple opponents. You can work on this weapon's strong suits to build a class setup that demolishes opponents at close range.

  • Muzzle: XTEN RR-40
  • Barrel: FSS Cannonade 16"
  • Optic: Slimline Pro
  • Underbarrel: VX Pineapple
  • Stock: Demo Quicksilver Stock

8. BAS-P

The BAS-P is one of the best weapons to use if you want a combination between an SMG and an Assault Rifle. This gun has an easy-to-control recoil pattern and a quick fire rate. The BAS-P doesn't have great handling and provides low mobility. You can take advantage of these base stats by equipping certain attachments. The loadout highlighted below is a perfect example of having the BAS-P SMG as a sniper support class.

  • Muzzle: XTEN RR-40
  • Barrel: 12" Bruen SZ-36
  • Optic: Cronen Mini Pro/Slimline Pro
  • Underbarrel: Bruen Sync Shot Grip
  • Magazine: 50-Round Drum

7. ISO 45

The ISO 45 is a brilliant weapon to use for close to mid-range fights, and it has a high fire rate. This SMG packs a punch with every bullet, dealing a ton of damage to opponents. However, it falls short in terms of recoil control and range.

  • Barrel: 16" XLB-S
  • Underbarrel: Ftac Ripper 56
  • Optic Aim: OP-V4
  • Stock Mace: 650
  • Rear Grip: EXP Shear

6. VEL 46

The VEL 46 is a fast-firing SMG that offers brilliant mobility. This SMG falls short in damage, range, and takes longer to eliminate enemies. Despite its flaws, you can turn it into a solid weapon for close-range fights.

  • Barrel: Schlager RV-B
  • Laser: VLK LZR 7MW
  • Optic: Aim OP-V4
  • Underbarrel: Phase-3 Grip
  • Stock: Assault-60 Stock

5. Minibak

The Minibak is another fast-firing SMG with excellent recoil control. This gun has a 64-round magazine using a 9x18mm Subsonic Ammo. The Minibak lacks range, damage, and accuracy, but you can fix that with a few attachments. The following Minibak loadout setup is designed to clear a room full of campers and take on multiple opponents in a short span of time.

  • Muzzle: Bruen Pendulum/Bruen Cubic Comp
  • Laser: FTAC Grimline Laser
  • Stock: VLK Stockless
  • Rear Grip: True-Tac Grip
  • Magazine: Minibak Grip Mag

4. Vaznev-9K

The Vaznev-9K is one of the top-tier SMGs to use in Warzone 2. This weapon has been one of the meta guns since the start of the game and can build a class to demolish enemies at close to mid-range. The loadout below focuses on increasing the recoil control and handling for the Vaznev-9K, making it easy to control while engaging enemies.

  • Barrel: KAS-1 381mm
  • Muzzle: XRK Sandstorm
  • Rear Grip: Demo X-2 Grip
  • Optic: Cronen Mini Red Dot
  • Stock: Spetsnaz S10 Stock

3. PDSW 528

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

The PDSW 528 comes in as the second-best SMG to use in Warzone 2. This weapon is inspired by the classic P90, and it dominates in close-range fights. The PDSW 528 has a fast firing rate and offers decent recoil control. Its handling and mobility make it the best choice for a run-and-gun class. Nevertheless, this SMG falls short in terms of accuracy, range, and damage. Check out the PDSW 528 loadout we have below that turns this weapon into a meta gun in Season 4.

  • Muzzle: Bruen Pendulum
  • Laser: VLK LZR 7mW
  • Optic: Cronen Mini Pro
  • Rail: GR33 Light Rail
  • Rear Grip: Bruen Q900 Grip

2. Fennec 45

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

The Fennec 45 is arguably tied for the first spot as the best SMG in Warzone 2. This is a fast-firing SMG with great mobility and handling, but it falls short in damage, range, and recoil control. You can add the attachments mentioned below to build a strong class setup for the Fennec 45.

  • Laser: VLK LZR 7MW
  • Barrel: Force Tac Ninja
  • Stock: Agile Assault-7 Stock
  • Rear Grip: Fennec Rubber Grip
  • Magazine: Fennec Mag 45

1. Lachmann Sub

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

Tied with the Fennec 45 is the Lachmann Sub, boasting as the best-to-use SMG in Warzone 2. This weapon has impeccable recoil control and offers great mobility. Although it falls short in ranged engagements, the Lachmann Sub is built to dominate in close-quarter combat. The loadout listed below focuses on increasing this weapon's accuracy, damage, and recoil.

  • Muzzle: XTEN RR-40
  • Barrel: FTAC M-Sub 12"
  • Laser: VLK LZR 7mW
  • Underbarrel: FSS Sharkfin 90
  • Magazine: 40-Round Mag
