How to toggle helmet on and off in Wild Hearts

Take your fashion game to the next level.

Similar to the Monster Hunter series, the endgame of Wild Hearts is fashion. It is quite satisfying to wear the scales of monsters you once feared, using them for protection against ever greater foes. Each set of armor bears memories and scars, reminding you of how powerful you've become. Although the helmets in Wild Hearts are gorgeous, sometimes you want to put your character customization on display by setting the helmet aside. Here's how to toggle your helmet on and off in Wild Hearts.

In order to hide your helmet, you must have access to either a vendor forge or Field Forge. First, interact with the forge, then press Change Equipment. On this screen, you can switch between armor and weapons, viewing their info and skills. From here, press Display Head Gear, and this will hide your helmet. If you prefer to only partially hide your helmet, press Display Head Gear once more, and your collar and headpiece should return.

Even though your helmet does not appear on your character, it is still equipped, and provides all defensive benefits. If you dislike the appearance of your entire set of armor, you may activate any cladding you own by selecting the empty column of squares next to your equipment. If you purchased the armor DLC, you should own the Karakuri Samurai and Karakuri Ninja cladding. After pressing the empty squares, you should see any cladding sets you possess. To equip these sets, select them from the menu. To remove them, simply open the cladding menu and press Remove.
