Torn Spirits are unique items that most players who made it to the Plains biome will have but won't understand their true purpose in Valheim. In short, Torn Spirits were an item already present in the game but were renamed in the Valheim Mistlands update. That said, here is everything you need to know about Torn Spirits in Valheim.
What is a Torn Spirit in Valheim?
A Torn Spirit is an item that drops from the boss Yagluth when players beat them in Valheim. Torn Spirits were formerly called Yagluth things but were changed with the Valheim Mistlands update. You might also already have Torn Spirits if you have already beaten Yagluth. We recommend checking your chests to see if you threw Yagluth things somewhere in them. If you have not beaten Yagluth yet, you can easily use a few methods to help win the eventual Boss fight. Here's how to prepare and what items you need to beat Yagluth to get a Torn Spirit in Valheim:

How to use a Torn Spirit in Valheim
Once you get a Torn Spirit in Valheim, you can use it to make a Wisp Fountain. A Wisp Fountain is a unique structure required to get Wisps that you can make into Wisplights and Wisp Torches. Both Wisp items are used to clear the fog or mist in the Mistlands. Here's how to craft all items and get the required resources listed below:
- How to make a Wisp Fountain - To make a Wisp Fountain, you need One Torn spirit and 10 Stone and a hammer to place the Fountain on the ground.
- How to make a Wisplight - You can make a Wisplight using One Wisp and One Silver bar inside a Workbench.
- How to make a Wisp Torch - You can place a Wisp Torch using one Wisp, One Yggdrasil Wood, and a hammer.

Best way to beat Yagluth and get a Torn Spirit Valheim
If you want to beat Yagluth in Valheim, we recommend making the following weapons and armor to help prepare you for the fight.
- Make Frost Arrows - Yagluth is extremely weak to Frost damage, so making a few Frost Arrows is worth your time. You can make Frost Arrows with Eight Wood, Four Obisidan, Two Feathers, and One Freezing Gland inside a Workbench.
- Make Padded Armor - Padded Armor is one of the best armor sets in Valheim that offers ample protection for users. You can make a complete set of Padded Armor with 75 Linen Threads, 30 Iron, and One Silver inside a Forge and Workbench.
- Recommended Weapons for Yagluth - The following weapons are great to use on Yagluth because they feature damage types Yagluth is weak against:
- Mistwalker - You can make Mistwalker with 3 Fine Wood, 15 Iron, 10 Refined Eitr, and Three Wisps inside a Black Forge.
- Frostner - You can make Frostner with 10 Ancient Bark, 30 Silver, Five Ymir Flesh, and Five Freeze Glands inside a Forge.
- Huntsman Bow - You can make a Huntsman Bow with 10 Fine Wood, 10 Feathers, Two Deer hide, and 20 Iron inside a Forge.
- Spinesnap Bow - You can make a Spinesnap Bow inside a Black Forge with 10 Fine wood, 40 Bone Fragments, and 10 Refined Eitr.
After you make the weapons and armor listed above, you can beat Yagluth by focusing damage output as soon as he spawns. In short, there will be a brief window where you can damage Yagluth when he spawns without them fighting back. Outside this window, you need to circle Yagluth while avoiding his vast AOE flame attacks. You can avoid such attacks by using cover and running out of the area of effect. We also recommend building a base nearby with beds so that you can spawn and run back if you die.
