Genshin Impact 3.4 – leaks, banners, events, new characters, and everything we know so far

It could be a jam-packed Lantern Rite season.

Genshin Impact's development team continues to expand Teyvat with new areas, characters, and exciting events and stories, one update at a time. There's a lot to be excited about in the upcoming Version 3.4 update, which falls around the yearly Lantern Rite festivities. Despite the crackdown on leaks, the community has still been able to share content mined from the beta and private servers. But remember: take leaks with a grain of salt as they have not been confirmed by HoYoverse, and do not regard them as official information.

Genshin Impact Version 3.4 leaks – Alhaitham, Yaoyao, new desert area, & more!

New characters

HoYoverse has confirmed the release of two new characters for Version 3.4: Yaoyao and Alhaitham.

Alhaitham – model, kit, skills, gameplay

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gBMiZQU6uI

Alhaitham is a scribe who works for the Sumeru Akademiya and is a part of the Haravatat Darshan, evident by his implied linguistic ability. He is driven only by rationality, often clashing with Cyno during the Sumeru Archon Quest. According to leaker @taotaorerun, his birthday is allegedly on February 11. If this is true, then players will be able to receive a wonderful greeting from Alhaitham shortly after his release, and within timely proximity to Valentine's.

Alhaitham has also been leaked to be a five-star Dendro sword user with a kit that's allegedly extremely similar to Keqing's. He has already made headlines before his release for a nerf that supposedly occurred in the beta. According to leaks, his Ascension materials may possibly include materials from a new boss, as well as a new local specialty, so pre-farming may not be possible.

Interestingly, the video above by leaker SimakoV showcases what is purportedly an idle animation of Alhaitham holding up two keys, with a close-up render made by Reddit user u/seramaie. The animation implies that Alhaitham may have accidentally taken his roommate Kaveh's keys along with his own, as the keychain of the lion with a mechanical mane is representative of the Kshahrewar Darshan, which Kaven is a part of.

Yaoyao – model, kit, skills, gameplay

Yaoyao is Madame Ping's younger student with a mature disposition despite her small size. She enjoys hanging out at the Alcor, so much so that Ganyu has been tasked to take Yaoyao back should she get carried away playing in the pirate ship. She's been leaked to be a four-star Dendro polearm user with a kit that allegedly focuses on healing and summoning her familiar, Yuegui, to throw radishes that deal Dendro Damage.

According to leaks, Yaoyao's Ascension materials may possibly include a cooking staple, Jueyun Chilis, as well as Talent materials from the Shou no Kami. Pre-farming for her is possible, but keep in mind that the information is unconfirmed.

Character banner roadmap

Twitter leaker @Ubatcha1@SagiriShape@SaveYourPrimos, and Uncle Lu posted questionable character banner roadmaps up to Version 3.6. Their predictions for Version 3.3 were all correct, but there's no guarantee that the future roadmap will remain true to the actual release.

  • 3.4 first half - Alhaitham (five-star Dendro sword), Xiao (five-star Anemo polearm), and Yaoyao (four-star Dendro polearm)
  • 3.4 second half - Hu Tao (five-star Pyro polearm) and Yelan (five-star Hydro bow)
  • 3.5 - Dehya (five-star Pyro claymore) and Mika (four-star Cryo polearm)
  • 3.6 - Baizhu (five-star Dendro catalyst) and an unknown new character, some speculate that Nahida will rerun following the pattern of Archons rerunning every four patches post-release

New character skins

Despite being a gacha game, Genshin Impact is known to not over-monetize with character skins, only releasing two at a time. The last batch was for Diluc and Fischl during the Golden Apple Archipelago summer update. Now, leakers allege that Genshin could possibly be coming out with another skin pair, this time for Kamisato Ayaka and Lisa.

These were initially distributed by Team China, which has since deleted the original tweet. However, the community has caught on, improved the leaked descriptions, and created fan-made artwork based on traced sources. While the artworks below are beautiful, they're not official.

Ayaka skin

Leaks suggest that Ayaka's skin will possibly be a five-star, putting it on par with Diluc's Red Dead of Night outfit.

Lisa skin

Lisa's alleged outfit design has particularly garnered attention due to being an ode to her time in Sumeru. She was known as the Akademiya's most distinguished scholar in 200 years but chose to live as a librarian in Monstadt instead.

New weapon

According to Twitter leaker @sipsipsquad, Version 3.4 could possibly introduce a new weapon alongside Alhaitham allegedly called the Light of Foliar Sanction, as is customary with five-star character releases.

New area: Desert of Hamdramaveth

The long-awaited Sumeru desert expansion may come in Version 3.4 if leaks are to be believed. The area above the Land of Lower Setekh has been starkly empty but leaked maps like the above show what seems to be a large desert with a direct path from Old Vanarana. Based on a walkthrough by Unknown Goddess, the Desert of Hadramaveth seems to be a massive expanse with few major structures above ground, which could possibly indicate underground exploration.

Another leak suggests that the Desert of Hadramaveth could possibly have environmental quirks, similar to Inazuma's Tatarasuna and The Chasm: Underground Mines. Team China alleged that a new Gadget may be required to navigate the desert's sandstorms and may operate similarly to the Lumenstone Adjuvant.

Additionally, leaked information originally posted on Pengepul Teyvat and crossposted on r/Genshin_Impact_Leaks alleges that Version 3.4 may see three new Shrines of Depths and the rest of the Dendroculi required to max out the Sumeru Statue of The Seven. Even so, a leak by @genshinBLANK alleges that the desert may further expand in Version 3.6 to include areas allegedly called the Dendro Dragon's Cave and Dendro Archon's Lake.

New enemies

Alongside the new area, leakers also allege that new enemies may appear in Version 3.4.

Normal Boss - Setekh Wenut

The Setekh Wenut is leaked to be a Normal Boss where players could possibly farm for Ascension materials. It will allegedly live in the new desert area, and it seems to have mechanics similar to the Ruin Serpent, in that it looks to constantly bury itself underground.

Common enemies

New common enemies will allegedly appear in Version 3.4, possibly in the new desert area as well. According to leakers, they're called the Blessbone Flying Serpent, Blessbone Red Vulture, and Blessbone Scorpion.

New system update

A leak posted on the GI Front Discord channel and crossposted on r/Genshin_Impact_Leaks alleges a major quality-of-life update for the Artifact Strongbox. Based on the video, players might be able to drag-to-select instead of having to click on every Artifact one by one.

New events

Lantern Rite

Due to timing, Version 3.4 is expected to be jam-packed with Lantern Rite festivities. The exact format this year has not been officially announced, but leaks allege that the following activities may take place:

A leaker from NGA (Chinese forum) alleged that the Lantern Rite PV might possibly showcase Cloud Retainer's human form. The adeptus has always been at the forefront of bird memes due to her appearance, but she has been described as having a "tsundere" personality, a similar look and feel to Shenhe, and a respectable aura.

Onikabuto event

A leak originally posted on Telegram alleges that Version 3.4 may include an Onikabuto event. Players may be familiar with the bug battles that keep the children of Hanamizaka (Itto included) entertained. The update may possibly see this competitive game come to life.

Warrior's Spirit

Based on a leak with a barebones overview of the Version 3.4 events, Warrior's Spirit is allegedly a battle-focused event set in Inazuma. Another leak suggests that Kamisato Ayaka may appear.

Second Blooming

Similarly to Warrior's Spirit, the same barebones overview of the Version 3.4 events allege that Second Blooming may be another combat-focused activity, but set in Sumeru.
